Rishikesh River Rafting – 5 Days Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Dehradun & Local Sightseeing (30–35 km) – Altitude 640 m
Your journey begins in the charming city of Dehradun (640 m). After arrival, explore the natural and cultural gems of the town. Visit Robber’s Cave (10 km), a fascinating natural river cave, then head to Sahastradhara (14 km), famous for sulphur springs and waterfalls. Later, visit the peaceful Mindrolling Monastery (9 km) before enjoying an evening stroll at Paltan Bazaar & Clock Tower for shopping and local delicacies.
Overnight Stay and Dinner: Dehradun
Day 2: Dehradun → Mussoorie Local Sightseeing (35 km / 1.5 hrs) – Altitude 2,005 m
Drive to Mussoorie, the “Queen of Hills.” Begin sightseeing with Kempty Falls (15 km away), followed by a ropeway ride to Gun Hill Point for panoramic Himalayan views. Later, stroll along Mall Road, enjoy Camel’s Back Road, and visit Company Garden & Mussoorie Lake. If time permits, take a short drive to Lal Tibba (2,275 m), the highest point in Mussoorie.
Overnight Stay and Dinner: Mussoorie
Day 3: Mussoorie → Tehri Lake (110 km / 4–5 hrs) – Altitude 1,550 m
Drive through winding Himalayan roads to reach Tehri Lake. Witness the engineering marvel of Tehri Dam (260.5 m), one of the tallest dams in the world. Enjoy adventure sports including boating, jet skiing, banana rides, kayaking, and zip-lining.
Overnight Stay and Dinner: Tehri Lake Camps/Hotel
Day 4: Tehri Lake → Rishikesh Rafting & Sightseeing (75 km / 3–4 hrs) – Altitude 372 m
Drive to Rishikesh, the adventure and yoga capital. Enjoy a thrilling 16 km rafting stretch from Shivpuri to Rishikesh. Later, visit Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, Beatles Ashram, and Parmarth Niketan. In the evening, attend the serene Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat.
Overnight Stay and Dinner: Rishikesh
Day 5: Rishikesh → Dehradun Departure (45 km / 1.5 hrs) – Altitude 640 m
After breakfast, drive back to Dehradun where you will be dropped at the Railway Station or Jolly Grant Airport for your onward journey.
This itinerary beautifully blends the natural charm of Dehradun & Mussoorie, the adventure spirit of Tehri Lake, and the spiritual energy of Rishikesh into a perfect 5-day experience.

We had visited Chardham during 09.05.2025 to 19.05.2025. The entire arrangement was done by Shri Prashant Bhandari ji & his Tour Company. The arrangement was so foolproof that myself and my wife at the age around 58 could glide the entire tour with all sorts of possible comfort in the sense of journey, stay, fooding, mental and logistical support. The Darshan & Pooja in Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath could be accomplished with least inconveniences due to their active support. The car driver Rajendra Dungriyal was mare than a faithful family person. We’re not only delighted, but grateful to Shri Prashant Bhandari, Rajendra Dungriyal and their company/ allies. If possible we’ll repeat this tour and will readily recommend for others.
