Auli Snow Adventure – 5 Days Itinerary

Day 1: Dehradun/Rishikesh → Joshimath

(2,000 m | 270 km | 9–10 hrs)
Your journey begins from Dehradun or Rishikesh, driving along the sacred Alaknanda River. En route, you pass through India’s famous confluences:

• Devprayag – where Bhagirathi & Alaknanda form the Ganga

• Rudraprayag – where Mandakini meets Alaknanda

• Karnaprayag – where Pindar merges with Alaknanda

The drive also takes you through Srinagar, Chamoli, and traditional Garhwali villages. By evening, you reach Joshimath (2,000 m), the winter seat of Lord Badrinath and gateway to Auli.
Overnight stay at Joshimath.

Day 2: Joshimath → Auli

(2,500–3,050 m | 16 km road / 4 km ropeway)
After breakfast, head toward Auli either by a short road drive or via the 4 km ropeway — one of Asia’s longest. The ropeway floats above snowy valleys with spectacular views of Himalayan peaks.
In Auli, enjoy:

• Chair lift ride to skiing slopes

• Introductory skiing lessons with professional instructors

• Evening visit to Auli Artificial Lake, one of the highest man-made lakes in the world

Overnight stay at Auli.

Day 3: Skiing Practice & Trek to Gorson Bugyal

(3,056 m | 4–5 km trek)
The morning is dedicated to intermediate skiing, improving balance, posture, and speed.
Post lunch, begin a scenic snow trek to Gorson Bugyal, a vast alpine meadow blanketed in snow. Feast your eyes on majestic Himalayan peaks:

• Nanda Devi

• Trishul

• Kamet

• Hathi-Ghoda

Return to Auli by evening and enjoy a serene sunset at the Auli Lake viewpoint.
Overnight stay at Auli.

Day 4: Snow Trek to Chattrakund

(3,350 m | 6–7 km round trip)
Walk through snow-covered oak and pine forests toward Chattrakund, a pristine crystal-clear lake known for its peaceful ambience. The easy yet rewarding trek offers postcard-perfect Himalayan winter scenery.
After returning to Auli, enjoy another relaxing chair-lift ride as the snowy slopes turn golden during sunset.
Overnight stay at Auli.

Day 5: Auli → Joshimath → Dehradun/Rishikesh

(270 km | 9–10 hrs)
After breakfast, descend back to Joshimath via road or ropeway.
The return journey follows the same sacred river valleys and confluences — Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag, and Devprayag — before reaching Rishikesh or Dehradun by evening.
This marks the end of a breathtaking Himalayan snow adventure.
